J. Comput. Mech. Manag. Now Accepts Submissions in PDF Format Only

The Journal of Computers, Mechanical and Management was established to serve scholarly research at the convergence of computing, mechanical and industrial engineering, and management science. This page records the principal milestones in the journal's development from inception to the current snapshot, including the journal's publisher transition in 2023, the editorial leadership transition in 2024, and the indexing milestones thereafter. The page is updated as further milestones are reached.
The journal was established in 2022, with publication on the Open Journal Systems platform and a commitment to fully open-access publication under a permissive Creative Commons licence. The journal's editorial workflow on Open Journal Systems was inaugurated on 24 June 2022. Volume 1, Issue 1 was published in October 2022, establishing the journal's bimonthly publication cadence (six issues per calendar year) that has been maintained without interruption since.
From its founding in 2022 through the first two issues of Volume 2 in 2023, the journal was published by GADL Publishing, India. From Volume 2, Issue 3 (31 August 2023) onwards, the journal has been published by AAN Publishing, Malaysia. The transition was announced in the Editorial Comments to Volume 2, Issue 3, and was undertaken with the stated aim of extending the journal's international footprint and elevating the quality of service to the community of authors and readers.
The DOI prefix 10.57159 has been retained continuously across the transition. Articles published under GADL Publishing carry DOIs of the form 10.57159/gadl.jcmm.[volume].[issue].[id] and remain fully resolvable through Crossref. Articles published under AAN Publishing from Volume 2, Issue 3 onwards carry DOIs of the form 10.57159/jcmm.[volume].[issue].[id]. The journal's editorial scope, indexing programme, and publication cadence have been continuous through the transition. The contribution of GADL Publishing in the journal's foundational period is acknowledged.
The journal was led from its founding through Volume 3, Issue 3 (mid-2024) by Dr. Nanjangud Subbarao Mohan as Editor-in-Chief. From Volume 3, Issue 4 (October 2024), Dr. Ritesh Ramakrishna Bhat assumed the role of Editor-in-Chief. Dr. Mohan continues with the journal as Honorary Editor in an advisory capacity, in recognition of his foundational role in establishing the journal and shaping its editorial direction. The transition was undertaken to support the journal's continuing growth and the expansion of its editorial operations.

The journal's near-term priorities are: completion of the Web of Science (ESCI) application; re-application to the Directory of Open Access Journals; expansion of the active reviewer pool; and continued growth of the journal's published output across the four article types (Original Research Articles, Systematic or Methodological Reviews, Short Communications, and Editorials).

The journal's Article Processing Charge will move from USD 250 to USD 1,000 for manuscripts submitted from 1 October 2026 onwards. Submissions received on or before 30 September 2026 (23:59 UTC) will continue to be processed at USD 250. A tiered waiver scheme based on the World Bank country classification applies from 1 October 2026.
