Peer Review Policy

The Journal of Computers, Mechanical and Management (J. Comput. Mech. Manag.) follows a rigorous, fair, and transparent peer-review process to ensure the academic quality, originality, and relevance of all published articles. The journal is committed to maintaining editorial independence and upholding high standards of scholarly evaluation.

All submitted manuscripts are initially assessed by the editorial office through an editorial screening process. At this stage, submissions are evaluated for their relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, technical quality, methodological soundness, and compliance with submission requirements. Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be declined at this stage without external peer review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are subjected to a strictly single-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of the reviewers are concealed from the authors. Each manuscript is normally reviewed by a minimum of two independent reviewers with relevant expertise in the subject area. Where necessary, additional reviewers may be invited at the discretion of the handling editor to ensure a thorough and balanced evaluation.

Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts based on criteria that include originality, technical quality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, validity of results, and significance of the contribution to the field. Reviewer comments and recommendations are used by the editor to reach an informed editorial decision.

Based on the reviewers’ reports and the editor’s assessment, a manuscript may be accepted, accepted subject to revision, invited for major revision, or rejected. Authors are expected to address all reviewer and editorial comments in a clear and constructive manner when submitting revised manuscripts.

The journal endeavours to complete the first round of peer review within a reasonable timeframe. While review timelines may vary depending on the nature of the submission and the availability of reviewers, the first review round is typically completed within approximately three to four weeks.

Editors and reviewers are required to declare any potential conflicts of interest and to maintain the confidentiality of all submitted manuscripts. Editors do not participate in the review or decision-making process for manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.
