Publication Ethics

Ethical Principles

The Journal of Computers, Mechanical and Management (J. Comput. Mech. Manag.) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. The journal upholds the principles of transparency, integrity, and accountability in scholarly publishing, adhering to internationally recognized ethical guidelines and best practices.

Responsibilities of Authors, Editors, Reviewers, and Publisher

All parties involved in the publication process, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher, are expected to adhere to ethical standards that ensure the credibility and integrity of the scholarly record. The journal does not tolerate any form of unethical behaviour, including plagiarism, data fabrication or falsification, redundant publication, inappropriate authorship practices, or unethical research conduct.

Author Responsibilities and Originality

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their submitted work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Proper acknowledgment of the work of others must be provided through appropriate citation. Any use of previously published material must be clearly indicated and supported by the necessary permissions, where applicable.

Research Ethics, Consent, and Privacy

Research involving human participants, animals, or sensitive data must have been conducted in accordance with relevant ethical standards and guidelines from institutions, national authorities, or international organizations. Authors are expected to confirm that appropriate ethical approvals and informed consent were obtained, where required, and that the research was carried out responsibly while respecting privacy and confidentiality.

Editorial Assessment and Ethical Screening

All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial assessment, and the journal reserves the right to use similarity checking and other appropriate measures to identify potential ethical concerns. Manuscripts found to violate ethical standards may be rejected at any stage of the editorial or peer-review process.

Editorial Responsibilities and Conflicts of Interest

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, objective, and confidential evaluation of all submissions. Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit of the work and its relevance to the journal’s scope, without discrimination. Editors do not participate in the handling or decision-making process for manuscripts in which they have a conflict of interest.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to conduct reviews in an objective, constructive, and timely manner. Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers should disclose any potential conflicts of interest and decline to review manuscripts where such conflicts exist.

Diversity, Inclusion, and Fairness

The journal is committed to promoting fairness, diversity, and inclusion in its editorial and peer-review practices. JCMM strives to ensure equitable treatment of submissions and encourages broad participation from researchers across different geographical regions, institutions, and academic backgrounds.

Handling of Misconduct and Ethical Concerns

Any allegations of misconduct, including plagiarism, unethical research, authorship disputes, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or inappropriate use of research tools, are taken seriously by the journal. Such cases are investigated in accordance with established ethical procedures. Where misconduct is confirmed, the journal may take appropriate action, which may include rejection, correction, retraction, expression of concern, or notification of relevant institutions.

Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern

The journal is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record. Corrections, clarifications, retractions, or expressions of concern will be issued when necessary to address significant errors, ethical issues, or concerns regarding published articles.

Appeals and Complaints

Authors may submit appeals or complaints regarding editorial decisions or the peer-review process. All appeals and complaints are handled in a fair, transparent, and confidential manner and are reviewed by the editorial team in accordance with the journal’s established procedures.

Research Transparency and Reproducibility

JCMM supports responsible research practices and encourages transparency in reporting research methods, data, and findings, where appropriate and ethically permissible, to promote reproducibility and trust in published research.

Adherence to Ethical Guidelines

The journal adheres to the principles and guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in addressing ethical issues, handling allegations of misconduct, and maintaining fair and unbiased editorial practices.
