Editorial Team

The editorial team of the Journal of Computers, Mechanical and Management brings together scholars from across engineering, computing, and management sciences, distributed across multiple countries and regions. The team is structured to ensure that every submission is handled by an editor with relevant subject expertise, that decisions are made independently of the publisher, and that the journal's policies are upheld consistently across all submissions.

Editorial Independence Statement

The editorial team operates with full independence from the publisher in all decisions concerning the acceptance, revision, or rejection of submitted manuscripts. Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, methodological soundness, and scope-fit, as assessed through external peer review. AAN Publishing, the publisher of the journal, has no role in editorial decisions on individual submissions; its responsibilities are limited to hosting, technical infrastructure, financial administration, and indexing-application coordination.

Where a member of the editorial team is an author on a manuscript submitted to the journal, the journal applies its Editorial Submissions Policy. The author-editor is fully recused from the editorial workflow for that submission, the manuscript is assigned to an independent editor outside the author's reporting line, and the submission undergoes external double-blind peer review. The journal commits to keeping the proportion of articles authored by editorial team members and active reviewers below 15 percent in any rolling 12-month period.

Editorial Roles

The editorial team is organised into three groups: Lead Editors who hold final editorial authority and direct the journal's scholarly strategy; Handling Editors who manage individual manuscripts through the peer-review process; and Advisors who provide strategic input but do not handle individual submissions.

Lead Editors

• Honorary Editor - provides senior strategic advice on the journal's scholarly direction and academic standing. The Honorary Editor does not participate in decisions on individual manuscripts.
• Editor-in-Chief - holds final editorial authority for the journal. Oversees the editorial workflow, scope and policy decisions, ethical misconduct cases and represents the journal in indexing and standards matters.
• Managing Editor - coordinates the editorial workflow and the operational interface with the publisher, including production, copyediting, indexing administration, and timeline management. Handles cross-disciplinary submissions where a single Section Editor's expertise does not cover the full scope of the manuscript.

Handling Editors

• Section Editors - handle manuscript submissions within their subject expertise. Section Editors perform desk assessment, assign external reviewers, evaluate reviewer reports, and recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection to the Editor-in-Chief, who issues the final decision.
• Proofing Editor - reviews accepted manuscripts at the proof stage for typographic, formatting, and language consistency before publication.

Advisors

• Editorial Advisory Board - provides strategic advice on the journal's scholarly direction, scope evolution, and academic standing. Members of the Advisory Board are not involved in handling individual manuscript submissions; they may be invited to act as peer reviewers in their areas of expertise.
