Become a Reviewer

The Journal of Computers, Mechanical and Management welcomes applications from researchers who would like to serve as reviewers. The journal's reviewer pool is the foundation of its peer-review process, and a broad, internationally diverse pool with deep expertise across the journal's interdisciplinary scope is essential to maintaining editorial quality.

Who we are looking for

The journal seeks reviewers with:

  • A doctoral degree, or equivalent research and professional experience, in a field relevant to the journal's Aims and Scope;
  • An active record of peer-reviewed publication or substantive practitioner contribution in their field;
  • Demonstrable expertise in one or more of the journal's subject areas;
  • The ability to provide timely, constructive, and rigorous reviews;
  • An ORCID identifier, and where applicable a Scopus author identifier.

How to apply

Applications are made through the journal's reviewer-panel application form. The form takes approximately five to seven minutes to complete and asks for your affiliation, qualifications, ORCID identifier, primary and secondary subject areas within the journal's scope, specific reviewing-interest keywords, and methodological expertise. An ORCID identifier is required; if you do not have one, you can register free of charge at orcid.org before completing the form.

Applications are reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief and the Managing Editor. The editorial team does not respond individually to each application. Where an applicant's expertise matches a manuscript currently under consideration, the applicant will be added to the reviewer pool and sent a review invitation directly through the journal's editorial system. Applicants who do not hear from the journal should assume their application has been received and that an invitation will follow when a suitable manuscript becomes available.

If you encounter difficulty with the form, please write to editor@jcmm.co.in.

Alternative route: registering directly

You may also register directly on the journal site as a reviewer. Registered reviewers are added to the journal's reviewer database. Please complete your reviewing interests and a brief biographical note in your profile, so that handling editors can match you to suitable submissions. Note that direct registration does not replace the application form: applicants who register directly will still be invited to complete the form before being added to the active reviewer pool.

What you commit to

Joining the reviewer pool is not a fixed commitment. By accepting an individual review invitation, you commit to delivering a constructive review within three weeks. You may decline any individual invitation without penalty. Reviewers who do not respond to multiple invitations may be retired from the active pool.

What you receive

On completion of each review, the journal's editorial system sends an automated acknowledgement email recording the manuscript identifier and the date of review completion. Reviewers may use this email as evidence of their service. Reviewers who maintain a profile on a reviewer-recognition platform such as Web of Science Reviewer Recognition (formerly Publons) may self-record their reviews and request written confirmation from the editorial office. Full details, including the journal's commitments to expand reviewer recognition over time, are on the Reviewer Recognition page.
