Statement of Licensing Clarification

This statement clarifies the licensing terms applicable to all articles published in the Journal of Computers, Mechanical and Management, including articles published before the date of this statement.

Authoritative position

All articles published in the Journal of Computers, Mechanical and Management are released under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence. Authors retain copyright in their published articles.

This position applies retrospectively to all articles published in the journal since its inception in 2022, and prospectively to all future publications.

Note on legacy article footers

Articles published in the journal before Volume 5 Issue 2, 2026 include a copyright notice line in the article PDF footer that, by formatting convention, names the journal alongside the publication year. This formatting convention does not constitute a copyright assignment from the author to the journal. Copyright in every article remains with its author or authors, and the licence to readers is, in every case, the CC BY-NC 4.0 licence linked above.

Where any apparent inconsistency arises between the formatting of an individual article footer and the policies stated on this page, the policies on this page are the authoritative reference.

Article template update

The article PDF template has been updated to reflect the correct copyright attribution. From Volume 5 Issue 2, 2026 onwards, articles carry the standard form "© [year] The Author(s)" in the footer copyright line, in line with international scholarly publishing convention.

Practical effect for readers and reusers

Any reader, scholar, or institution wishing to reuse an article published in the journal may do so under the CC BY-NC 4.0 licence terms, with appropriate attribution to the original authors and source. Permission for non-commercial reuse is automatic under the licence. Commercial reuse requires permission from the article's author or authors, as described on the Copyright and Licensing page once published.

Effective date and review

This statement is in force from 25 April 2026. The journal commits to reviewing and re-affirming this statement annually as part of its policy review cycle.
